ACTSFri, Dec 16 2011

The ACTS Shelter in Dumfries needs your help! The Angel Tree inside the shelter is still almost completely full and we are closing in on the holiday season quickly! The tree contains gift wishes such as fuel gift cards, pajamas, toy cars, and other misc items.
The wonderful group at ACTS [Action in Community Through Service] has been serving the Greater Prince William Area, including the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park, since 1969. Through the years, they have expanded to include a food bank which recently ran into a shortage due to the recent flooding of Holley Acres MHP. In addition to meeting the hunger needs in the community, they also include a whole-family comprehensive domestic violence prevention and intervention program.
In addition to the recent displaced families due to flooding, they still have to support the homeless community due to the economy. Whether you can drop by to donate a few presents, wrapping paper, or food items or whether you can adopt a family- every little bit helps. If you are in the area, stop by and see if you can give or even donate time!
